I read an article which discussed President Obama's speech on children and education. He said,
"There is no excuse for not trying. The truth is, being successful is hard. You won't love every subject that you study. You won't click with every teacher that you have."
Discuss and answer the questions below with your group.
1) What do you think about this statement? Is it true, false? Have you ever experienced difficulty in being successful?
2) What advice could you offer to students who may not like a particular subject or teacher, but still want to be successful?
3) If you are having difficulty in a class, would you ask a peer (someone your age) for help?
Peace,
Mrs. Miller
